Along The Waters' Edge offers a variety of maintenance services for water features ranging in size from small, residential water features, to large-scale commercial ponds.  Each contract is custom designed for the clients specific needs. 

SPRING CLEANOUTS

It's always a good idea to give your pond a fresh start by giving it a spring cleanout.  In a clean-out, the stale pond water is replaced with fresh, clean water that is ready for bacterial colonization. Spring clean-outs replenish the water in a pond and allow it to begin a fresh, new season. Since a balanced ecosystem keeps the pond healthy the rest of the year, an annual clean-out gets it off to the right start and is highly recommended in the Chicagoland area.

During the cleanout the fish are carefully removed to holding tanks and the pond is drained.  After draining, all foreign debris is removed by hand and the entire pond is cleaned using a high-pressure washer.  All filter mats and biological media are also pressure washed during this process.  After cleaning, the pond is flushed clean.  During this entire process, special attention is given to replacing stones/gravel that have fallen during the past season, checking for potential leaks and future problems and replacing all the bulbs in the underwater lighting system.  The pond is then filled with fresh water, a de-chlorinating water treatment is added, and finally the fish are released back into their environment.

MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS

Along The Waters' Edge offers a variety of maintenance packages each customized to the individuals water feature.  These packages are offered in a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly setup.  Maintenance contracts are perfect for the homeowner who demands perfection in their water feature throughout the year.

All maintenance packages include the following:

• Hand removal of all foreign materials
• Testing of water
• Pruning & fertilizing of aquatic plants
• Addition of necessary water treatments
• Cleaning of skimmer debris net/filters
• Overall "check-up" and "tweaking" of water feature
